Saturday Night Live hosted Adam Levine and Travie McCoy as they performed their latest single, “Stereo Hearts.” The song is part of the Gym Class Heroes’ new album, The Papercut Chronicles II.
“Stereo Hearts” has gained wide popularity, reaching No. 1 on the UK R&B and US Pop Songs Charts. The song includes a catchy hook from Maroon 5′s Adam Levine and head-nodding rap lyrics from Travie McCoy. The video is just as catchy as the song! It follows a guy and girl in split screens who both get dressed for the day and walk around New York City with boom boxes until they meet each other at the end. MTV’s James Montgomery described the song as “prime-time slab of genre-mashing, sweat-inducing pop, the kind of song that may very well push GCH to summertime super-stardom.”
The Papercut Chronicles II was released on October 25. McCoy states that the album has taken many different directions, even with “Stereo Hearts.” “It’s got some reoccurring themes from the first Papercut Chronicles, musically and lyrically, and people who were in love with the Papercut Chronicles are gonna pick up on that… Every album we put out, we try to push that envelope further, and this case is no different.” We’re sure Travie McCoy has much more up his sleeve, and fans are anxiously awaiting!
